According to the URL you provided, this community should be near the Morgan-Cullman County line not far from Eight Mile Creek. Providence does not appear on DeLorme's "Alabama Atlas & Gazetter" for 1998. It must be too small to have been recognized by Buck Owens, Misty Rowe, et al on Hee-Haw ["SA-LUTE!"].

Having some familiarity with the Brindley Mountain area, I would have to describe it as being out in the middle of nowhere. During college I met a young lady at a cheerleader camp who claimed she lived near Falkville, just north of Cullman. When I drove up to visit, I discovered that she actually lived in Cole Springs. At that time Falkville had one red light to call attention to itself; I'm not sure that Cole Springs could claim a stop sign. It's a lovely area, but like many places in Alabama, the name is useful only as a geographical description.
