Wayne, thanks again for responding. Yes, I have pretty well
exhausted the areas you mentioned. My grandparents said he
was in Confederate Cav. He was from Franklin Co. AL. ,
Russellville area. I had earmarked Broadfoots J.M. Turner
of 1st Co.H, 1st Confederate Cav. Reg't as being most likely
candidate based on info I had received from Alan J. Pitts
that this company was originally formed near Cherokee, Fran-
klin Co. and called "Franklin Scouts". I searched 1850 and
1860 cencus for the county and he is the only J.M. Turner
listed. Service records I rec'd on J.M. Turner state that
the company was later transferred to Roddies 4th as Co.L.
