All three of these Parsons (M.B., Malachi, and Marion) survived the war. If Brenda's family story is correct, that rules out these possibilities.

M.B. (identified as Miltyre B. Parsons in the microfilm) was paroled on 5/13/1865. Marion was, too. Malachi was paroled on 6/7/1865.
