My husband is building an apartment complex near Luverne, AL. During the excavation, a barrel to a cannon was uncovered. I wondered where this may have come from. Was there ever any battles or camps or other events during the war in Luverne? If anyone can help me, please e-mail me. I have not had time unfortunately to research this myself. I just thought it was very interesting. Thanks in advance for any information anyone may have.
