That's a familiar area, being right off I-59 on the way to Tannehill. I'm related to families that lived there during the war, the Ellards and the Oglesbys/Oglesberrys. Since it's right on the corner of four counties, I'll look in Bibb, Jefferson, Shelby and Tuscaloosa for a 1907 entry. I'm sure some veterans were overlooked during the census taken that year, but most who were reasonably healthy and in their right mind should've responded. He probably would've applied for a pension in his old age, and there would have to be several supporting documents to confirm his service. We may find something interesting here....
