The 41st Ala. Inf., Co. B "Pickens Greys", was formed in Pickens County. As the Cox family had close ties there, this could be a likely possibility.

However, most documents list this man as W.G. Cox, although some list him as G.W. Cox. This would need more research to sort out which is correct. I show that he was mustered as a "replacement".

Also in this company were Privates J.E. Cox, and W.P. Cox.
