Your best bet is to contact the Al. Department of Archives and History or the U.S. Department of Archives. I do find a Milton B. Cox with the 16th Al Inf.; rank in Sergeant rank out Private. The following numbers are from the National Archives Box, Roll and Record. 000374, 0010, 00002778
