Ma'am,

I was surprised and happy to see your post asking for information on Pvt George Washington Carter. He was my G.G.Grandfather. He and another Co. E vet, William Washington Tubb, Sr. must have been good friends as their children married and became my G.Grandparents! Are you and I kin?

I have copies of Pvt. Carter's service and pension records as well as a photograph of him after the war with his family. George Carter was married to Mary Rinehart and her brother, Elisha was also a member of Co. E. He was my G.G. Granduncle. (I guess that's what you would call him?!)

Did you know that before G.W. Carter was with the 41st he was with the 3rd Alabama Cavalry?

I am trying to discover if his brother Samuel is the Samuel Carter mentioned on the roles. Most likely it is but there are two seperate service records for Samuel Carters with the 41st and they are different people.

I could go on But I will close for now, hoping to hear from you soon.
