Hello Mike,
Well first we are kin, G.W. Carter was my ggg grandfather, I'm related to him through his daughter Ollie Calivenia Carter Tucker. I'm delighted that you answered,I have ran into a block with this line, his siblings were Polly and Samual,I'm trying to locate his parents through the census, Samuel was killed in the Civil War, he was shot thru the neck and his body was leaned up against a tree. I have located G.W. Carter grave and some of his children but I can't find his wifes grave. I did not know he was with the Cavalry, I was told by a great Aunt that was Samual with the 41st,and how he died we're also related to John Madison Tucker on the role he was also a ggg grandfather to me, Ollie married one of his gg grandsons. I would love to swap info with you, if you don't mind. I have tried to get a picture of G.W Carter but I was told they never made one of the 41st, (lack of funds)if you got it from a book, could you tell me what book, I would dearly love a copy, The Civil war part of all this is the only thing my 12 year old loves and interested in right now, he is proud of his gggg grandfather,Please E-Mail be directing at angiegolden@starband.net, and we can talk more.
