k. anderson37th AL Inf E & GSat Mar 10 11:09:32 2001 Thank you for the informative response. I know you are correct to advise me to obtain individual records of service. Until I am able to do so, however, I thought I could obtain some hints on the fate of an ancestor as well as gain a deeper appreciation of his unit's service by tracing POW data and parole rosters (if they exist). Your National Archive records of Co. E&G of the 37th sound like a treasure trove. While I am mainly concerned with the activities and fate of my Alston men in these units (none were officers to my knowledge), any general information contained in your file would be received with much gratitude. It may also be of interest to others on this board as well. So, by all means, the next time you're in the basement and are so inclined to retrieve your notebooks, indeed, I would be very interested in the content.Thank you again for your helpful post....kAlston?
