I want to thank all of you. With the information that you came up with I was able to find out about my gggreatfather John Key. He enlisted in the 28th Alabama Regiment Co. E. He was captured 11/24/63 , entered Rock Island POW camp 12/05/63and then joined 2nd U.S. Infantry Co.K 10/13/64 for frontier duty. Does anyone have information about this unit or know how I can find out more ? Again thanks.
