I'll look at the laws which governed the Conscript Bureau at some point, but we still need to know Morehead's title as given on any correspondence you may have. He could've been post commander at Troy, also, with these folks serving as his provost guard. That'd make it even more confusing.Don't know of any connection to the other mounted companies that later joined Love's Battalion prior to March 1864.
