Ken JonesCo. "I", 45th AL InfantryTue Feb 20 11:37:23 2001 Need to know the local designation of this company, and its point of origin. The "Supplement" to the Official Records calls this unit (Co."I") the Randolph Volunteers, as does William Amann's "Personnel of the Civil War". While the "Supplement" is notorious for typographical errors, Amann is not. However, I have information from an informant that this unit was actually called the Rudolph Volunteers (or Rudulph Volunteers) and that the unit was raised in Lowndes County. Robert Horn also calls the company the Rudolph Volunteers.Knowledgeable folks?Don't know about the "knowledgable" part, but..... Alan J. Pitts, Tue Feb 20 14:30
