From my notes on Capt. Gilchrist's company:


Named for Dr. B. B. Rudolph, this command enrolled on March 13, 1862, at Fort Deposit, Alabama, arriving at Barrancas, Florida, March 15, 1862. Officers and men mustered on April 2, 1862 [at Loachapoka, Alabama]. Survivors united with those of Companies “A” and “F” to form Company “H”, consolidated 1st Alabama Infantry Regiment.
