Thank you so much for your reply. Where in the ORs can I find the reference to the "regiment of boys" at Chehaw station?

Thanks, also for your post below about the Missouri Veterans at Blakely. I also find this quite an interesting
and touching story. I did not mean to imply that the "boy regiments" were "crack troops" but only that they requited themselves well (much better than the older veterans expected)I think there is a lesson somewhere there for all us old guys about what young people can do given the right leadership and example. By the way are you descended from Capt Wesley Pitts Co. C, 62nd Ala?
