I do not claim in any way to be an expert on Capt. McVoy, but I have a microfilm copy of the Compiled Service Record of Lt. Patton of the 40TH Ala. inwhich there is a pay voucher for him that was issued by and signed by Capt. Alex. McVoy, A.Q.M. of the 40TH Ala. dated 31 August 1862. The handwritting is very plain and all dates are consistent.There are other pay vouchers in this file signed and dated by McVoy on later dates in 1862.
