Thanks for the mention. My only contention is the dates of 1863. James Todd Dowdle died in the Franklin, Tn area in 1863 so the formation of the 41st Alabama and the Locketts' City Guards must have been before, my guess is May 1862 the reported formation of the 41st Alabama (I believe without checking my notes).
