Can anyone provide information on this regiment, or the location of information online? It seems both my g-grandfather (Daniel W. McLean) and g-uncle (David Shaw Bethune), originally with the 1st Alabama Volunteers (Co. "G," "Perote Guards") resigned after their one-year enlistment with the First, then joined the 51st on 27 June 1962 at Shelbyville, TN.
