Is this the 4th Tennessee Infantry or Cavalry and do you know which company of the 4th Tennessee the Jackson Co. men were in?I have been looking for my ancestor, Volney Fleming Willoughby, from near Stevenson in Jackson Co. His son Monroe was a member of the 17th Tennessee Inf., Co. I. There is a V. Willoughby shown in the roster of the 4th Tennessee Infantry as enlisting in Germantown, TN. After investigating further, I discovered this V. Willoughby was listed in other locations as "Vincent Willoughby". If it is possible this is a mistake, perhaps this V. Willoughby is actually my "Volney".Any information you could provide would be helpful.BTW, do you have access to a book called, "The Stevenson Story" by a Mrs. Woodall.
