:Mr. Newman,
I know nothing of the two terms that you asked about, however in transcribing my "grandfather's" letters, I gather that mail and goods were shipped home by a friend or relative of one of the soldiers. So far in reading these letters home, I have found three different people transporting goods-food, clothing, mail, and horses. Maybe the terms you speak of have to do with these people.
