First, let me apologize....it is Mrs. Newman.....Susie. I am sorry that I mislead you. I was told by my grandmother that my grandfather's father(my great-grandfather)drove a mail covered wagon from somewhere around Little Rock, Ar. to Butler Street and the trip took him a long time. This was in the 1850 and 60's. I have found his grave at the Enon Cementery at Butler Street. I found his marriage to my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Gillispie, is 1860. He had previously married her cousin, Margaret Elizabeth Gillispie in 1854 and she died having her second child. He took the first child and went on the stage coach trip ..leaving the newborn boy with a family. When he returned, my grandmother said the family had disappeared with the child and he never was found. 1860 census in Montgomery has my gggrandfather as a stage coach driver. His second wife is listed and his first born child (a daughter) I believe she was listed as 6 years old. There was a son listed and gave his name and age as 4. This had to be the lost child. Why would he have been listed????? My great grandfather was Henry Keller born in Pa. I am at a stand still trying to solve this. Henry apparently ran away from home at age 16. He was born (so my grandmother said) in Allentown, Pa. His tombstone reads that he was born 1826 and he died in 1895. Some people have told me there was a Jack Keller stage coach line which ran down Alabama. I cannot connect him to this mainly because I cannot connect him at all to anything except his decendants. All of the Kellers from South Alabama are decendants from this man. Also, the Boones, Browns, Fountains, Cokers, Synders,Lanes and many, many, more families are connected to this man in Escambia County, Al. I thought maybe (like my grandmother said) he drove a stage coach carrying mail going from post to post. She said it took a long time for him to make the trip and the "turn around" was Butler Street. I hope you aren't as confused as I am. Thanks for any help. Susie Newman
