Have a letter from Henry Clay Sanderson, my great-grandfather, born 13 Sep.1844 who enlisted in the 2nd AL Cavalry, on 1 Sep.1862, in Montgomery, and served to the end of the War, surrendering with his unit in Forsyth, GA. They buried their guns (too heavy to carry) and walked home to Montgomery Co, AL. He is not listed in the 1907 published "census" although he attended a reunion. He died 13 October 1913 and is buried in Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery, Pintlala (Hope Hull), AL. His 1 May 1865 parole is on file at the AL State Archives.
