Hayes, This is what I found in Broadfoot listed. Please bear in mind that in my experience, I have not found any Alabama Corps of Cadets members listed in the National Archives as belonging to that unit. I have, however found some, one being my great grandfather William Larkin, listed at the Alabama Archives as he applied and was granted a Confederate veteran's pension for his service with the Corps during the war. The Corps was actually called into Confederate service for a while during the war and were dispatched to several points in the state to thwart threatened Federal invasions. They were mustered out of Confederate Service and in State service when they actually saw combat as a unit in the skirmish with Croxton's Raiders at Tuscaloosa. According to the Alabama Archives and to inquiries that I have made at the University of Alabama, there seems to be no war time roster of the Cadet Corps known, but I feel that surely there must be a roster somewhere.

As to your inquiry :

James Garrett Pvt. Co. K, 16TH Ala. Inf. Regt.
" " C, 30TH " " "

James J. Garrett Pvt. Co. G, 44TH Ala. Inf. Regt.

J. Garrett Pvt. Co. D, 33RD Ala. Inf. Regt.
" " A, 35TH " " "
Camp of Instruction Talladega
Talladega City Reserves J.T. Smith's Co.

Jesse L. Garrett Pvt. Co. A 36TH Ala. Inf. Regt.
Camp of Instruction Talladega

Jesse Garrett Pvt. Co. G, 62ND Ala. Inf. Regt.
" " I(Livingston's) 8TH Ala. Cav. Regt.
" " A Moses' Squad

I also checked the spelling of Garrett with only one "t" with no results that I thought may have been either of these men. I only listed those that I found in Alabama units.

Regards, Henry
