Hayes LoweParole of 37th.Wed Dec 13 13:10:54 2000 The 37th was paroled at Greensboro. I had just overlooked it on the list. Again, this list is assembled from the microfilmed records of the paroles.I double-checked, and I do have the complete list. The 40th and 42nd are not listed as paroled in Greensboro or Salisbury, N.C.I also checked Ann Bloomquist's book on the 40th and there is no mention of consolidation with the 19th or any other regiment."They Bore Every Burden" states that the 19th and 40th were consolidated on April 9, 1865, and was brigaded with Gen. Pettus. There is a footnote number (115), but unfortunately, I didn't see it when I was looking at the book, so I didn't get the footnote.40TH and 46TH Ala. Inf.
