The Virginia in the Civil War Message Board

Re: The 26th Va at Charlston SC

Good news and bad news. The good news is he is already on the Georgia Confederate Grave database. The bad news is he is listed as having served in Co. C. 24th Regiment Georgia Infantry. His birth date is 13 June, 1844, death 31 March, 1910. Notes: Sent to hospital 6 Nov, 1862. Wounded at Chancellorsville, Va. 3 May, 1863. Buried at Alta Vista, Hall County, GA. I will forward your posting on to Ken Mitchell, he is in charge of the database. I will give him all the information you have given me, so we can get his service unit and state changed. If you would like to look it up here is the web site, just go to search and type in his last name, it will come up with a list, just click on his name and you can get the information. I will let you know when we can get it changed.
