George A. Woodram, Private, Company F, 26th Battalion Virginia Infantry (Edgar’s Battalion), enlisted June 12, 1861 at R. S. S. by Capt. Thrasher for 12 months, killed June 3, 1864, named on Honor Roll as Color Bearer, December 10, 1864

The 26th (also known as Edgar’s) Battalion Virginia Infantry was organized May 20, 1862, from those members of the 59th Regiment Virginia Infantry who escaped capture at Roanoke Island, N. C. February 8,1862, together with some recruits. S. O. No. 244, A. & I. G. O., dated October 18, 1862, formerly confirmed its organization as an independent battalion.
