From one of the Virginia Regimental Series books by Robert J Driver and Kevin C Ruffer,
which covers the 39th Battalion Virginia Cavalry,among other units.
on page 135 regarding the 39th VA Calvary, Pvt Craddock was listed as being in Company C,
enlisted at Lynchburg 10/1/1862. Listed as paroled Lynchburg on 4/14/1865
Listed date of death 10/12/1912 @ age 68. buried spring hill cem.
Obit claimed service in Co G,2nd VA Cavalry (Does say whether the obit was on his grave or
in newspaper)
My ancestor was Samuel Bradford Brown in the same unit ,so I am always interested in info on
the 39th VA Cavalry. Hope this helps your wife in her search.
