William C Maloy, Private, Captain John H. Guy's Company (Goochland Artillery) Virginia Artillery*, enlisted June 6, 1861 at Goochland Court House by J. H. Guy for 12 months, captured at Donelson February 16, 1862, forwarded to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois prison camp, sent to Vicksburg, Mississippi for exchange, arrived on board steamer Jno. H. Done, September 20, 1862, medically furloughed at Richmond, Va., November 12, 1862 for 30 days, recorded on the October, 1863 Regimental Return as detailed as Shoemaker by order of Sec. War, last recorded present February 28, 1865, paroled at Richmond, Virginia April 21, 1865

* This company was known at various times as Captain Guy's Company, Captain Talley's Company and 1st Lieutenant Guerrant's Company Virginia Light Artillery and as the Goochland Light Artillery of Virginia
