I'm not sure about a Robert Barrett but there indeed was a Thomas Barrett. Maybe Robert was Thomas' son. Was Robert from Tazewell? Had a sister named Mahala? Had an uncle named Edward ? Look into the recent (1999?)Tazewell history published by the TazHistSoc. Look for the Barrett story..it is about being pow's at Ft. Delaware. Let me know what you find.
