The official national book release of my book "The Confederate Alamo: Bloodbath at Petersburg's Fort Gregg on April 2, 1865" is set for Saturday April 3, 2010 at Petersburg's Pamplin Park. This will commemorate the 145th anniversary of this bloody fight. Outnumbered and outgunned, some 300 Confederates made a suicidal last stand at Fort Gregg to save General Robert E. Lee’s army. Fourteen Union soldiers received the Medal of Honor for their bravery at Fort Gregg.
