Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life and military service of Major D. Meekins (about 1837-1918), who served as a sergeant in Company K of the Thirty-sixth U.S. Colored Infantry during the Civil War. Meekins (also listed as Meekin) survived the war and lived in Norfolk, Virginia. Any and all help appreciated.
