The same source indicates Hiram B. Saunders was mustered into the company as a Second Lieutenant, and was later advanced to Captain. He is listed as being captured on 12 May 1864 (battle of Spotsylvania). The initial roster also lists a George H. Saunders as First Sergeant, captured on the same day. According to the Supplement to the Official Records, Hiram's middle name was Bolling. The company lost only two men wounded at Gettysburg, on Culp's Hill. No mention of Nathaniel in either source.
