Confederate Memorial

Another note of interest from The Dixie Grays Camp in Ladoga, IN. The Indiana Sons of Confederate have voted to fund and establish a Memorial Stone at the Ladoga Cemetery. It will be just like the Confederate stones which we are erecting in Montgomery County, but it will be 8 ft. tall and 4 and a half feet wide. It will be inscribed with the names of all the Confederates buried in Montgomery County and the names of the Cemeteries where they are buried. The memorial stone will cost about $8,000 and will be funded by donations and gifts from different camps. If any of you are interested in helping with this project, contact the camp commander who is also the State Commander of the SCV for the state of Indiana. We have found 48 vets from Virginia, 3 from Georgia, 2 from Tennessee, 2 from Kentucky, and 1 from North Carolina. If you are interested in helping, contact our commander Stevem L. Ritchie at slritchie@netzero.net or check with the commander of your camp as we will contacting camps all over the country. All gifts will be appreciated.
