Captain James Power Smith

I am a reenactor in the 29th VA which also doubles as a unit in the Stonewall Brigade, and I have recently aggreed to take on the impression of Captain James Smith who was the aide-de-camp on Jackson's staff. I have been in contact with the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church where Smith was pastor after the war, and recieved some biographical information. I also have been in contact with Smith's great-granddaugher, and recently came across a written description of the uniform coat he wore at the time of Jackson's wounding, but before I ever present myself in this role I feel more information should be obtained. Anyone have any ideas of somewhere to contact or to do research? I would really like to find what kinds of effects were carried, such as the type of sidearms, headwear, and personal belongings. I imagine this is a long shot, but I am trying anything I can. Please feel free to contact me via the forum or email me at swordofthesouth@hotmail.com. Thank you for your time.

Very Respectfully,
C. Jones
