Thanks Chief, I haven't been on the boards as much as I would like as of late, but it is good to find you here. Glad you like my site. Those ancestors on my site later served in the Cavalry and one of them died of typhoid in August, 1862. This past Sunday our historical group did a CSA iron cross marker dedication for another ancestor of mine who was probably the most well known of any of our family. He was Sgt. Major John Wilson Vermillion of the 22nd Virginia Cavalry, known as "Texas Jack" Vermillion of gunfighter fame. After his carousing in the west and the Wyatt Earp vendetta ride Jack returned to our native Virginia and became a Methodist minister. It was an honor to place the marker on his grave, which is located in the Methodist church cemetery in Mendota, Virginia.
