I did not find an Ed Mooreland, but the two noted below.

There are some 41 cards in the files for Dorsey which amplifies the sketch below. Believe he was
tried by court martial June or July 1865. These records may be obtained through the service noted above

George Martin

Nicholas Worthington Dorsey

Residence Urbana, Frederick County MD; 25 years old.
Enlisted as a 1st Lieutenant (date unknown).
He was listed as:
* POW 9/14/1863 Leesburg, VA
* Transferred 9/18/1863 Fort McHenry, MD (Had one hand at time of transfer)
* Escaped 5/15/1864 Fort McHenry, MD
* POW 6/16/1864 Monocacy, MD
* Transferred 6/22/1864 Fort McHenry, MD
He also had service in:
"G" Co. VA 7th Cavalry (Only on post war rosters)
"B" Co. VA 35th Battn Cavalry
He was described at enlistment as:
fair complexion, dark eyes, brown hair
(After the war he was arrested and sent to Albany, NY
to serve life sentence for robbery and murder.)
