I have an old newspaper clipping Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1939 about Old Time Veterinary Surgeons of Page Co. VA & the first one listed is John Reamer The article was in my Grandmothers things. Question: As my John W Reamer was b in 1818 that would make him 43 by 1861 could he have used this knowledge during his service & still be just a private?
