i have found him and his father in the richmond archives they were with the 23rd va infantry battalion. his father was palser surber his name was william meeks surber. i cant find any record of death for william. he was as iam told buried in mcdowell co w.va in a un-marked grave in algoma hollow.i have been looking for proof of this but have run into a stone wall not jackson of course. does any one have any ideals on where to turn to now?
