Joel,
Your George Funk has a very interesting twenty-two (22) page Compiled Military Service Record. It confirms he was wounded at Chancellorsville, May 3, 1863. It also shows he was "severely wounded" in 2nd Manassas Campaign, on August 28, 1862. This was the date of the battle of Brawner's Farm. You can read about this desperate little battle at http://www.historynet.com/magazines/american_civil_war/3026321.html . This fight featured the Stonewall brigade for the South and the Iron Brigade for the North. Neither, side was willing to give ground and the losses were very heavy.
Andrew Funk has a twenty-six (26) page CMSR, which confirms his wounding at Spotsylvania and his incarceration at Elmira Prison in Elmira, NY and his subsequent death in late October of 1864.
