Happy New Year to all.

I want to express my thanks to one and all that helped me locate and understand information I had gotten on my great grandfather. My great grandfather was from Floyd County, Va., an area of great discontent during the Civil War, which I did not know. Without the guidance of all of you on this message board, I wouldn't have been able to follow the trail so quickly to gather the information I was needing. He started in the 45th and was transferred to the 17th.
