Re: Marriage in Virginia - Frank Field(s)

Paul,

Benjamin Franklin Field was my wife's gg-grandfather and Edgar H. and George W. are gg-granduncles. I have all of their CMSR's. Frank was never a "Full Captain", he was however; a First Sergeant. The "Col. Field" is an error and apparently refers to Frank Field.

Frank Field was a "Blacksmith" by trade and post-war, worked for "the railroad" in a number of different places, including Lynchburg, VA; Chattanooga, TN and Bridgeport, AL. Bridgeport is the last place I've found him. I've never been able to find a pension application for him or his burial place. I also do not know when and where his wife "Georgianna" died. The children, including my mother's g-grandmother, a Georgianna Hayden Field (apparently named after her mother), appear in Memphis, TN after 1900. Georgianna Hayden Field married a Wiley Lonzo "Lonnie" Brown, a railroad engineer.

Frank Field's father was a Stephen Field, a shoemaker/cobbler in Alexandria. Stephen Field was born about 1800 in Maine. He married a Catherine Howard, who was a member of the "Beal Howard" family of Anne Arundel, MD.

I have nothing on Georgianna, wife of Frank Field's family, so any help is appreciated.

Jim
