Dr. David Campbell Ferguson has a confederate marker on his grave in Bartow, FL. He came from Russell County, Virginia around 1880. Can't find any information that he served during the war 1861-1865. There is nothing else but the years on the cross. Anyone having suggestions on how to find out if he was in the service would be most welcome. Records were not found in Washington as we need a number from the cross for which there was none. Would appreciate any help from anyone. Thanks.
