My ancestor was Capt Samuel Bradford Brown of the 39th VA Cavalry. I did find additional info on your ancestor:
1st Lt. Albert Harrison Pettigrew

On page 149 of a book written by co authors: Robert J Driver,Jr and Kevin C Ruffner. Long title of their book is called "1st Battalion VA Infantry,39th Battalion VA Calvary,24th Battalion VA Partison Rangers" with
IBN# 1-56190-093-1 under the 39th VA Calvary index,

Book mentioned Lt.Pettigrew was in the Lynchburg Hospital quite a few times in 1864. He later was Mayor of Lynchburg for 4 years and died at age 48 in Lynchburg on 7-30-1891
and was buried in Spring Hill Cemetary.
