Dixie Days 2007

Central Virginia's premiere living history event, Dixie Days will be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10 at Pole Green Park in historic Hanover Virginia. This is a non-profit event and is free to the public. Hosted by The Edmund Ruffin Fire Eaters, Camp 3000, Sons of Confederate Veterans, 2007 marks the fourth anniversary of Dixie Days. This year's event features artillery, infantry, and cavalry demonstrations as well as period encampments, sutlers, music, and guest speakers. Each day's event will include the reenactment of The battle of Gaine's Mill. In addition this year's event will feature a full size replica of the H.L. Hunley. There will also be modern food and merchandise vendors on hand. Dixie Days is funded entirely by donations from individuals and local businesses.
