In late September Hood's Division, as well as other Confederate units, camped near what they described as a "big spring", somewhere betweeen Winchester and Martinsburg. Apparently it was quite a spring, because it provided water for what I believe to be two divisions, quite a lot, even given the casualties that at least Hood had taken. Can anyone help me with the location of the spring?
