ambushed at south mountain by yankees

william james lumsden was my 1st cousin, 4 times removed. he served the 19th va inf, co b "albemarle rifles". private promoted to corporal. by all family written accounts, he was killed at south mountain, maryland, by yankee troops waiting behind a stone wall in an ambush 9/15/1862. i cannot at this point locate him in virginia. a. can someone tell me whether this information is accurate? b. is it possible to tell where he was laid? c. can i find where in the south mountain arena this took place? i live in frederick maryland now, and this is close.
