I am researching the murder charges against Lt. Col. W. H. Powell of the U.S. Army (Jan. 1862). Powell was accused of deliberately shooting a confederate prisoner in cold blood. And it was one of his own men who accused him of this deed. I have found some information regarding this incident but have run out of leads and don't know where to go from here. Any advice?
