There is a 26 foot tall monument of Richmond granite in Fairfax City Cemetery [formerly called the Cemetery for the Burial of the Confederate Dead] which honors 200 unknowns whose remains rest beneath this monument. Sources disagree as to how many Confederate soldiers are actually buried here with estmates ranging from 200 to 500.
