Hello. Can anyone out there tell me what Southern Regiments opposed the 16th Michigan on Malvern Hill, July 1,1862. This is of special interest to me because my greatgrandfather of Co.B, 16th Mich. took a bullet in his right chest there. Luckily the bullet was spent and only penatrated the ribcage and lodged against his lungs and they were able to dig it out and he was back in action for the remainder of his enlistment until after Gettysburg when he was sent to Park-Patterson Hospital in Baltimore. He returned home never the same and died at an early age of 42. Thanks,Gene.
