Haven and Len,

Thought you might be interested in this info. This Saturday at 1:00pm at Maury Cemetery in South Richmond, VA my SCV Camp and my reenactment unit (Smith's Battery, Third Company, Richmond Howitzers) are participating in a headstone re-dedication ceremony for Private William Oswald Goode. Goode was in the 22nd Virginia Infantry at The Battle of Giles Court House on 10 May 1862. He eventually ended up in the Staunton Hill Light Artillery (along with his younger brother) which defended Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear River area. Goode was born in Charlotte County, Virginia in 1840 and died 31 January 1907. Goode ended up in the 22nd VA after being paroled by the Federals after being captured and taken prisoner at The Battle of Laurel Hill, West Virginia on 7 July 1861 while a Private in the 23rd Virginia.
